Scott Mackenzie

Scott Mackenzie operates in the harshest of environments on the Isle of Skye to deliver true traditional wildlife management, conservation and wild game shooting. He is Head Gamekeeper Stalker at Fearann Eilean Iarmain - a working landscape that is home to a rich diversity of wildlife. Scott is frequently featured in the national media leading the charge for visitors to the Isle of Skye to understand how the landscape is managed, why it looks the way it does and how it was shaped. By doing this, he hopes to champion the conservation work of gamekeepers like himself and safeguard the environment for future generations.

Scott's background:

I was brought up on a council estate within a large town but always longed for outdoors amongst the hills and woodlands. Little did I know where my journey would take me, from that first day as a YTS Gamekeeper at the tender age of 15 working on a commercial pheasant and partridge shoot to now as Head Gamekeeper Stalker on a Highland estate. My chosen career has given me so many experiences and allowed me to enrich the experience of the outdoors to others.

I use the Haenel Jaeger 10 XL Timber .270 / Leupold VX-5HD 3-15X56 rifle scope.

Scott has previously been recognised with the following awards:

British Gamekeeper of the Year 2019
Country Sports Hotel of the Year 2019
Winners of the Golden Plover Award for Land Management 2017
