Sellier & Bellot eXergy Blue, lead-free cartridges offer exceptional performance and pave the way for the transition to lead-free ammunition in the UK. This ammunition is depended upon by leading wildlife conservationists such as professional stalker Chris Dalton for its accuracy and consistency.

Chris says, 'I have used S&B blue ammunition now on sufficient outings to be totally happy with its performance under field conditions. Consistent, supremely accurate with no discernible difference to the lead ammunition I have used previously in terms of deer dropping to shot."

S&B Lead-Free 02

By the 1st December 2022, all Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) contractors will be using lead-free ammunition for shooting deer and feral pigs. The rangers have already switched to non-lead bullets. Lead-free all-copper rifle bullets started to appear over 28 years ago.

"'I have used S&B blue ammunition now on sufficient outings to be totally happy with its performance under field conditions. Consistent, supremely accurate with no discernible difference to the lead ammunition I have used previously in terms of deer dropping to shot. It leaves an exit wound sufficient to leave a good blood trail, (although I have not had to follow anything up yet).  Faced with the option of using my standard round in lead and these S&B blue, I would find it difficult to choose between them – the combination of Jaeger 10, Leupold VX-6 and S&B blue works like a dream – decision and permanent change made".

The eXergy Blue solid copper bullet with tapered base (boat tail) and a very pointed nose guarantees an extremely flat trajectory. The blue plastic tip that gives the cartridge its name enhances expansion at all ranges, while the solid copper construction maximises weight retention and energy transfer. The bullet is completely lead-free.

There is no shortage of traditional European hunting caliber loads, such as the 6.5x55 SE with 120-grain bullet and the 8x57 JRS with 180-grain bullet. The Sellier & Bellot eXergy Blue are sold in packs of 20, with practical 5-round plastic trays that keep the cartridges in perfect order and can be reused.
