This Easter Bank Holiday, Viking Arms supported a memorable event that introduced nearly 500 young scouts to the world of target shooting. Held at the Shanklin Rifle and Pistol Target Shooting Club on the picturesque Isle of Wight, the event aimed to support budding interest in rifle shooting.

Young Shots at Island Venue

Throughout the weekend, 492 members of various scouting organisations from across the UK gathered for what many would experience as their first encounter with cartridge rifles. These young enthusiasts, mainly aged between 14 and 25, were not all novices; some had previously shot air rifles. However, the Ruger 10/22 provided a new and exciting challenge.

Equipped with 10 rounds, the scouts aimed at targets set 25 meters away, with many showcasing impressive accuracy and some achieving notably high scores.
